About Groblersdal

Groblersdal is located on the Limpopo side of the border between Limpopo and Mpumalanga. It is ± 191 km south of Polokwane; 86 km North of Middelburg and 115 km North from Witbank (travelling on the N11 through the Kranspoort pass). Nelspruit is 230 km to the East and Bronkhorstspruit 107 km to the West of Groblersdal.

Travelling from Gauteng: Groblersdal is about 165 km from Pretoria (using the R25 through Verena and Dennilton) Please note that the R25 between Groblersdal and Bronkhorstspruit, has safety warnings. General precautionary measures should be taken when travelling from Gauteng. You may want to consider using the N4 to Middelburg turning North on the N11 to Groblersdal. The distance would then be 226 km (travel time 2 hours 45 minutes) travelling through 2 toll plazas.

Summer temperature (September to February) ranges from 30° C and 40° C. Winter reaches a high of 22° C.

Facilities and Activities around Groblersdal

Groblersdal has various sport clubs and facilities including rugby, bowling, tennis, golf, cricket, a hockey club and two gymnasiums. The gymnasiums provide aerobic classes, water aerobics, and have facilities for weightlifting, circuit training and spinning. Saunas and sun beds are also available at the mentioned gymnasiums. The "Lemoenbloeisel" Marathon is an annual sports attraction in this area.

Aventura Loskop Dam is about 40 km from Groblersdal offering great fishing and boating opportunities. There are a number of nature reserves that offers nature drives, a crocodile farm and an ostrich farm are also located in the vicinity.
